Puffy Face, but still Smiling

I did my stint with the humane society in Mississippi. My main job was anaesthetist (very stressful) and monitoring post op recovery. Only poked myself once with a needle and all my patients survived surgery. Overall, got some good experience though. On my last night, I stayed by myself in Memphis, TN and saw a little bit of Graceland—the Elvis mansion, Heartbreak Hotel and rode in a pink pig limo to a restaurant called Marlowes and had some of their famous pork BBQ. This week, I also had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out. Now, I know how the animals must feel waking up from anaesthesia! I look like a blonde chipmunk now. The best news of the week is Buster is going back with me to Oz—woo hoo! (We had his blood retested and turns out it must have been a lab error!) Thank goodness!

Winter in Sugar Land

Katherine and I had a sleep over like old times a couple of nights ago at the beach. Too cold and windy for sunbathing, but we still had a good time hanging out and talking about girly stuff. Today, I saw Firewall with my parents. We ended up getting free movie passes because it was supposed to be closed captioned with a rear window, but the theatre didn’t have all their equipment in yet. Btw, went on a date last night. It was supposed to be just coffee, but turned into dessert and drinks. We had a nice time and talked a lot about stuff that would be considered “taboo” on a first date! Lol. Not expecting anything given my school obligations, but it’s nice to know they’re still some nice guys out there! :)

Nothin Like the Country

Last weekend I visited my Mammaw and Pappaw. Every time I visit them, I always feel relaxed. I even lose track of time and sleep soundly. Something about being surrounded by the woods and all of nature’s beauty gives me a sense of inner peace. I had a wonderful time chatting, taking nature walks, learning surgical knots from Dr. Tommy, eating good venison, sipping tea by the fire, and most of all spending time with my loved ones!
